Molly Kaissar, a fifth-year PhD candidate in our group, was invited to present her doctoral research at this month's UMN BME-Industry Grand Rounds. This seminar series connects ongoing research in the department with the greater biomedical industry. Molly's talk, "Using cardiac ultrasound to monitor heart health during pregnancy", discussed the clinical benefits of using cardiac ultrasound during pregnancy and shared her research using cardiac ultrasound to investigate how lactation influences postpartum cardiac recovery. Her work was presented alongside Dr. Tina Lenneman from Boston Scientific, who covered their state-of-the-art intravascular ultrasound technology.
